The Wyalusing Music Program

Music For All,
All For Music

It is very important for music students to experience good music in a live environment. There are several active local organizations that we encourage our students to frequent, sometimes organizing a trip to see performances, sometimes offering tickets to our students donated by patrons of the arts, and sometimes just by making sure our students are aware of local arts events.
In the past we have gone to several professional orchetras, and this past year we went to see the Philadelphia Orchestra in the Kimmel Center. There will continue to be big trips every few years, and we regularly go to local performances, and do master classes with professional musicians. There are costs involved, and the best way for our students to fund their way on this trip is through our Wyalusing Music Parents' Fruit Sale. Students can sell fruit to earn money to offset the costs of their trip, and many students will be able to go on this trip for "free" (fully funded by their fundraising efforts). Music Parents run multiple fundraisers during the school year, and also offer any student in the higher levels $20 to their student account per time they help in the concession stand. They are no longer doing the fruit sale, and I'm off on Sabbatical so won't be updating this page this year.
